New Research Initiative Launched to Promote Feminist Studies in Gaza

June 28, 2026
A new research initiative has been launched in Gaza City to promote the field of feminist studies and highlight the issues of Palestinian women from a contemporary academic and social perspective.
The initiative aims to encourage researchers to study the reality of women in Gaza, including their participation in education, work, social life, and their role in facing daily challenges. It also focuses on producing knowledge-based content that contributes to raising awareness about justice, equality, and women’s empowerment within society.
Organizers of the initiative emphasized that feminist studies are not limited to women’s issues alone, but also provide a broader space for understanding social transformations and analyzing different roles within the family and society. This, they noted, can help support the development of more just and inclusive policies.
The initiative is expected to include workshops, discussion panels, and research papers in the coming period, with the participation of academics, students, and local institutions interested in gender issues and women’s rights.
